All of our gratitude to Hirata Hiroshi

On December 11, 2021, a manga artist, Hirata Hiroshi, passed away.
He worked on many unparalleled manga series on the theme of bushido, with a powerful drawing style. His manga has been highly appreciated not only in Japan, but also outside of the country.
Hirata Hiroshi participated in the Genga’ (Dash) project that has been co-organized by the manga museum, and in exhibitions and events. Especially, at the signing event in December, 2015, it was impressive that he gave soulful autographs to the attendees.
At that time, he let us make his hand plaster and a card of his autograph, both of which are showcased at the museum. Also, his autograph with a drawing is left on the wall of the museum café. All of them are now treasured at the museum.
We would like to express our sincerest condolences and gratitude to Hirata Hiroshi for his great work. We will continue to let the world know the fascination of his work through Genga’ (Dash).
Thank you very much, Hirata Hiroshi.
