Graphic Diary:
Experiences of Indonesian Comics Artist Tita Larasati

Tita Larasati began to draw comics on a daily basis when she was studying in The Netherlands. After her return to Indonesia, she co-founded the independent publication company named Curhat Anak Bangsa (CAB). Since then she has been promoting the new genre of graphic diary as both an artist and a publisher. Her work is grounded in Indonesian society, especially the local reality of women, but at the same time also an increasingly renowned part of the global comics culture.
In 2008, Tita Larasati participated in the project "KITA!! : Japanese Artists Meet Indonesia" which was organized by The Japan Foundation on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Japanese-Indonesian relations.
