Ueyama Tochi's fifth serving of manga cooking

At the Kyoto International Manga Museum so far, we have introduced several ways to enjoy manga that transcend mere reading, mainly experience-centered, focusing on the five senses (taste, smell, hearing, sight, touch), like "manga and food","manga and music", and so on.

We will hold a talk show with a cooking demonstration the author of the manga Cooking Papa, Ueyama Tochu actually cooks, dishes that appear in the story. This popular event is in its fifth year, and this time, we will feature original dishes you will want to make yourself immediately after you get home, to the theme of "getting married". Ueyama sensei will make three dishes that will conquer your lover's heart that you can also find in his manga. While the deft Mr. Ueyama cooks, he will also give you insight into what goes on behind the scenes when making manga. You will be able to taste some of the dishes, making it an event you can enjoy with all five senses! We hope guests will enjoy the taste of the dishes and the zest of the talk.

After the event, we will hold an autograph session

On the day of the event, anyone who purchases a related item at the museum shop may have the item autographed. (Limited to 50 people)

About Cooking Papa

The protagonist, Araikawa Kazumi, is a salary man from Hakata, Fukuoka, who works very hard. Because of his stoic character and rugged looks, he looks a bit scary, but he is a very good father and also a very good superior to his employees at work. He loves cooking, and often cooks dishes he is good at to provide comfort to other people. It's a feel-good culinary manga series of self-contained stories.
