A Commemoration of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers in Kyoto The 2008 G8 Summit

This exhibition brings in a collection of cartoon illustrations drawn by professional cartoonists and children from all over the world, all in the spirit of the G8 summit. Through this exhibition we can share all of our understanding and views on the environment and at the same time enjoy the humor and individuality that is so inherent to comics.

Period June 1 to July 6, 2008 (closed every Wednesday.)
Place Inside the 2nd Flr. Main Gallery (Pro Section)
Inside the 2nd Flr. Gallery 4 (Junior Section)

Martin Honeysett
England, 1943~

An active participant in Punch and Private Eye magazines, his works range from comics, to illustrations, to picture books. He in the past he has served as an instructor of a cartoon course at Kyoto Seika University.

Ashmarin Stanislav
Russia 1937~

A doctor, who since 1963 has been drawing comics continuously. Has won many prizes for his works in countries all around the world.

England 1938~

For the past 30 years has been working as a freelance cartoonist. Including having received many awards for his work, he was also the recipient of the 4th Kyoto International Cartoon Exhibition UN Environment Program Award.

Pawel Kuczynski
Poland 1976~

Has won gold previously in the 2006 7th Kyoto International Cartoon Exhibition and won awards in many other international exhibitions.
