Notice of partial change to admission fees
We at the Kyoto International Manga Museum hope that this communication finds you well and in good health.
Since November 2006, when the Kyoto International Manga Museum was established as a new cultural institution to function as both a museum and library, we have held exhibitions themed around celebrated manga artists and manga from within Japan and abroad. Last fiscal year saw the museum visitor count reach beyond 300,000 people and the development of a great variety of projects.
Additionally, the museum now holds approximately 300,000 precious manga materials in its collection. However, the long term preservation of these materials and the work required to manage and catalogue the collection so that it may be accessed by the public, as well as further expansion of the collection so that it may be used in future exhibitions of all kinds requires considerable financial expense.
Due to these circumstances it has become necessary to make an alteration to the museum admission fees. The new fees as outlined below will take effect from Thursday the 2nd of June (as the museum will be closed on the 1st).
Thank you sincerely for your time and for your understanding in this matter.
