Kyoto International Manga Museum

To collect and preserve manga materials systematically and make our collection available for academic research on manga culture both in Japan and abroad, we are seeking the donation of manga materials. If you have old manga magazines/books, caricatures or satirical magazines, please contact us. Information concerning donations is also welcome. We sincerely ask your kind cooperation.

Manga materials wanted

• Manga magazines, manga information magazines, animation information magazines published before 1988
• Manga books published before 1988
• Old manga books/magazines, such as Akahon manga (red book comics, published from the mid-1940s to the mid-1950s) and Kashihon manga (rental comics, published from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s)

* Please note that we may refuse donation in the following cases:

When the donated item is in bad condition
When the donated item is already held in multiple copies and cannot be used effectively

About donated materials

• The Museum reserves the right to decide how to use donated materials.
• Please note that items already in the Museum's collection may be donated or transferred to other facilities in Japan or abroad.
